Thanks for the advice people I think the cradle shot is going to be the way forward. I have a couple of hours spare Sunday morning so I will get down to the pack with the little one and let her run off some steam while I practice the old sand bag technique.

Thanks for the videos as well, all very helpful. I'll let everyone know how I get on.

The thing I try to explain to people when throwlining is to aim above the fork you are going for. To many people aim directly at the fork and come up short. Also as MattyF said it's all in the swing.

 

This is exactly what I was going to say....but in addition...notice what happens and where it goes! for me when I looked at the branch I wanted, I would either go lower or hit it. As stupid as it sounds it took me a while to figure that I had to look above the branch! :lol:

But looking too high also gets you in a pickle. So you need to work out where you need to look get the bag in the place you want it. Get your eye in to exactly where you need to look
