You weren't going to use them again last August...... Yawn.

You are quite correct. Unfortunately, I took my mistake on the chin and understood that last time, it was I who was to blame and listened to Coz who wanted to take her kids to Krakow, Auswitz, the Salt Mines etc.

We paid for two suitcases in advance and also took a couple of carry-ones. At EMA, the bags weighed less than 15kgs each and they put the carry-on in the hold foc.......

Caz brought a pair of shoes their, and I got rid of a rugby shirt and left my shampoo, deodorant and shower gel - so no big gain or loss. At the airport, the girl tells me that both bags have increased weight, making us 4.5kgs more than we came!!! She wouldn't re-weigh these but rather brusquely demands that we go to another desk. This after she says that we can put the extra in the small carry-on and she will put that in the hold for free! So it isn't an argument over weight or bag size then.......

We also watched one chap get through check in with two carry-on bags, both of which were too big to go in the box. Only to be the last on the plane as he had to pay to put one in the hold while the other went on free!

If there isn't an alternative carrier, I will have to think hard as I feel that they are not a company that I wish to fly with again. Especially if they have such bizarre rules.....

What has always got me is I, as a 105kg man pay the same as a 55kg girl but then they argue with you about your bag being a few kg over..

I'm fearing the day they make each person get onto the scales at the check in desk; I bet Ryanair must have thought of doing it already...

I am a big fan of Easyjet never done Ryanair but Easy looks far superior. Weigh before you get to airport and add 3kg for £9 online or else buy a bag of chocs at Duty Free and fill bag with surplus , budget airlines allow a duty free bag in addition to hand luggage

Likewise, I fly with Easyjet from Bristol 6 or 7 times per year and always good service and good value for money.

Flew to Venice with Ryanair, which was okay, but still not recovered from the blinding of the luminous yellow head rests on the seats...freaked my wife out :confused1:
