The Rhandirmwyn Oak estimated to be approximately 600-700 years old.
Quite remarkable to see a tree of this calibre in a hedgerow, right on the side of a road.



Well off the beaten track, near Llandovery Wales.
Taking a detour was well worth it.

We have this one locally that  is not quite so spectacular but  just sits on a verge minding its own business with no protection.

Not such a remarkable tree but always amazed how well trees can adapt to situations. Young oak taking over an old estate fence.
