Towing 3.5t with a defender 300 tdi

I tow 3500kg all the time with my 300tdi and quite often with the landie at 3500kg aswell.

I now have a VNT turbo and full width intercooler, and it tows very well, before they were fitted it struggled with both loaded but was fine with just the trailer at 3500kg.

A worthwhile investment if you are going to be doing a lot of towing at 3500kg would be a full width intercooler imo

Hi Keith a lot here are fitting VNT AUDI turbos to TD5 and 300TDI personally I wouldn't like to tow 3500kgs it each Day you may have to set out the night before as it is painfully slow thanks John

3.5 ton behind the mitzi no problem. Hate trailers but if its off the beaten track and the beavertail wont get to it so be it. Trailer tyres dont like this kind of weight at 55mph and stand a good chance of going bang if its a long journey.
