What have you got to do to it ? If its coming down then spikes and flip line after spending time cutting the ivy off . If not its a challenge .

Nothing at all & no it's not coming down.Or I hope it isn't!

When I first came to Northampton over 25 years ago,it was the main 'attraction' from the living room window.I used to look at it & swore to climb it one day.Having turned sixty last year,I thought it was time to get it done.

I attempted it using a 25 metre rope & a 2.5 metre lanyard with a couple of carabiners.(all I had at the time).Didn't even get half way after about 5 hours! Hence my earlier comment about the ivy.

I've now got more equipment,60 metre rope,more carabiners & lanyards,right & left ascenders,dmm hitchclimber,petzl croll & a lot more determination.

Tree gaffs ..... and a Flip line . If its down for removal

 

Swat I said but apparently there is no work to be done on it so its just a challenge

No rope, nothin...

 

Just get in an tell yourself you ain't comin down till you've reached the top..Oh, I don't know if your slightly overweight, but if you are, get on a diet till you've lost a few pounds.

 

Amazing how much easier these things are when you ain't dragging up an extra kilo you can do without..
