Looking for ideas: how to carry a chainsaw on your back?

Once I'm sure Sthil produced a backpack that was designed as a clearing saw harness but could carry a chainsaw, fuelcan a few tools and a bit of food all at same time, iv tried Google but no joy on images so next time I'm at dad's I'll have a look at some early -mid 90's catalogs that might still be in my old room nd see if I dreamt it or not.

 

I'm pretty sure you're not imaging it John, I just think it might have been jonsered that did them. Couldn't find owt on Google either though.

I have a tenor ukulele soft case that has two back straps, I think you would get the saw in that, or go up a size, might be worth a look at a music shop.

Dakine make a backpack designed for carrying a chainsaw on mountain bike trails or at least they did

Had a sheath init for the bar and straps for the engine

Get yourself down to Endicotts in Exeter and get an ex army large rucsac, well made and cheap.

The crutches are not going to help pulling or pushing that A canvas haversack with a slot cut in the bottom for the bar and hang the saw downwards inside the bag would be my idea or something with wheels and a rack.

When working in the woods I can get a 441 with a spare bar and chain, wedges, hammer and my dinner in a army burgen rucksack. I used to then carry fuel can and felling bar but you may not need that much gear and looking at a smaller saw. Could be worth a look as there cheap and well built. Good luck in your hunt.

I love the look of it but it would be impossible for me to use with my crutches!!

 

I've got a pull around garden cart for use on the flat like the one in the attachment below but it would be terrible on the hills! I can even tie the handle to be belt and still use two crutches whilst towing it behind me.
