Thinking of renewing my 9 year old 2x wood processor . should i buy another haki now they are over 8k. I have had good service on parts but am thinking of moving a bit more up market maybe a machine with out belts.

The binderberger looks a good machine but at 20-30k too much

the dalen at £12,500.00 looks possible

Bgu 370 at £7995.00 looks good value.

Anyone had experience of any other machines. Any that should be avoided ?

i cant believe how much these machines have gone up. the dalen was to be my next machine when i originally saw it, about 3 years ago. from memory it was just under 8k then!

The exchange hasnt recovered that much, i am looking at the exchange every day as i am in the euro zone and exporting into northern ireland. the pound has been gaining every day now for the past week or so and is now at about 90 pence to the euro or 1.11 euro to the pound. Defenitely an oppertunity for a UK manufacturer to export into the euro zone

I am thinking bars that stop between cuts mean less wear and chain oil use. Hydraulic motors more reliable but expensive if they go wrong. Belts are crude but you can keep them on the shelf when they are only £5 ea. I think the 1x37 may be a much better machine than my 2x . Before making a decision I will try and see a newer Hakki.
