  8. Bilke cleans up the competition - News & Features, Farming - Independent.ie Dont know what model number this is but comes out of it all right.
  9. how well does it dry out in a big heap like that? I guess it will take longer to season than if the wind can easily get through it?
  10. Did they not have anything or were they too expensive?
  11. I guess your right about being busy with tree work, he is only a couple of miles up the road and works all day and night so dont think he is waiting for a days log work.
  12. I just called my local tree surgeon for a load of firewood (crew cab transit tipper) and he told me ill have it in a couple of weeks. Ive typically been able to source my own forewood from various sources FOC so its my first time buying it this way but i thought a 2 week lead time was a bit long. I know im not in a panic for it so its ok now but what lead time do you lot typically have to deliver a load of firewood?
  13. in a previous job i got bulk bags (non vented) from Donegal Potatoes. Dont know if they do small bags. Thats probably the closest to you. The only other conact in the north is M Large who sell processors and bags as well firewood processors Hakki Pilke, logsplitters, sawmills, woodchippers Donegal Potatoes Ltd Colehill Newtowncunningham Co. Donegal (074)9156155

  16. Contact | Scottish Woodlands they have an office in Cloughmills, youll get the number off the website. Let me know how you get on, ill be looking for some wood later in the year. Only other alternative i know of is Coillte here in the south. About 1000 euro of a 40 ft load of softwood.
  17. Anyone know where i can get vented bulk bags or vented barrow bags in Ireland. I can get them from the UK but the cost of the carriage shoots up the price per bag. Thanks
  18. Garry, can you PM me your details and prices as ill be in the market for some wood in a few weeks. Thanks
  19. you may do a search about this. i remember reading something about this on this forum a while ago and dont think it was a sucess if you are going to use the bags a number of times.
  20. To give you and idea as to what the going rate is, I was quoted 250 euro a day (225 pounds) for a tractor, operator and processor (palax 600). He asid he could process and artic load of wood in 2 and a half days. I would encourage you to be there to help operate the machine. Ive lent out bits and pieces and have had them returned in poorer shape than what they left. Think carefully about who you let it out to....
  21. Miley10, this might even be your website, i kept a note of it when you were asking questions because i thought it was a very effective site and could point me in the right direction when i am doing up mine. Firewood, logs, kindling - MSM Firewood, Henley, Langport, Somerset samtheman365, as you said in the original post a few more pictures would be good. I like the one of the door of the truck. It gives the impression that your serious about the job if you have gone to the effort of signwriting the truck. what i was thinking was get a photo of each of the delivery options ie: a cube tipped up in the yard and half a cube so if someone comes on asking how many logs are in half a cube you can tell them look at the website and thay have a picture. Other than that its looking good. Best of luck
