Rather depends what sort of surface the miles were mainly gained on. Around the Lakes, I'd be lucky to get 10,000mls. Down south where the roads are better, less cracks, less potholes, less bends & less salt; 15,000 is more realistic. Either way, forestry tracks and newly resurfaced roads really trash tyres.

As said depends, but I've had 40,000 miles on the rear wheels, down south. Front tyres wear quicker esp with front wh drive.

In my experience driving wheels last about half as long as the other end. Wife got 43000 and 21000. Depends on power and tyre type. A soft grippy tyre could last a lot less than a harder one. High powered car can easily wear tyres on the drive wheels in 4000.

My Vito gets 40 k out of a £70 tyre

 

Depends also on the depth of tread to start with. My Amazon 16 in wheels get 50 k plus on bfg at. They start with 14 mm

But the disco 4 had 19 in low profile which get hotter and suffer more damage from pot holes and towing. They start with 8 mm of tread and with 250 hp last about 12,ooo miles or 6 months.

When I got my present car, it had BFG Profilers on all corners. When it came to change the rear pair, they'd done approx. 25,300mls. But the front ones only did around 15,000mls. I really liked those tyres; BFG ceased making car tyres or at least, they ceased the size that fit my car.

Just changed the missus's front tyres on her C1 Michelin energy got 21k out of them . Rears still look like new .

I once got over 90,000 miles out of a rear tyre on a front wheel drive transit!

My tyres last a lot longer on the roads here which tend to be straighter & smoother with less stop starts.

 

However, as stated the driving wheels will always wear quicker & it depends how much right foot you use in accelerating & braking. A large, high torque engine will also accelerate wear.

 

The front tyres of our Saab 93 last around 35-40K Kms & rears about 2-3 times that - tyres are 225*17"*45*94w
