Are you using AV's own HD springs??

 

They have no taper and are really not fit for purpose:thumbdown:

 

If your mog is fully loaded all the time, IE fitted with permanently attached equipment, taking the mog to GVW all the time, they are fine. But if you are empty going to site and loaded heading home, the lack of taper will not allow your brake sensor to adjust to the changing load.

I don't know the full info. New heavy trucks are not allowed alloy fuel tanks due to corrosion. I know this because a haulier I work for couldn't have ally tank on a new scania 8 wheeler.

 

Looking long term it might be worth not getting alloy, incase the regs extend and eventually include unimogs. I doubt it will for a long time and may not affect older vehicles

I`ve not heard that one my self, but I know you can not get alloy ad-blue tanks due to corrosion, sorry for the derail!

 

Taking shape Ian, does the exhaust your swopping from one side of cab to the other have a larger bore pipe on the bottom of the stack than the pipe going into it by a fair bit, in the original unimog style? if its a normal fit it makes a lot of difference, in terms of noise and vibration in the cab (for the worse).
