The 346XP ticks many boxes, lots of shared parts with the 345/350/357 etc, it is a very popular saw so many made and many aftermarket parts so you will be pretty safe with one of these.

 

The weakness of the saw is probably the inlet manifold. Some just split around the impulse connector and some are just badly fitted by so called mechanics!

And some ( one anyway ) don't have the vent opened in the down tube to the carb :sneaky2:

I understand your dilemma, some new ones are a liability & manufacturers dont support their products in the way they should.

 

I think the 3 series Husqvarnas are fairly good - I have 346 & 365 and would like a 390 - I wouldnt touch autotune saws although some love it.

 

You can still get the 346ne in France if you google 'husqvarna 346 tronçonneuse thermique' its around 600 euros

 

It seems like Dolmar & Echo make some strong saws which are worth considering
