Ideally you want H.R.A planings which is a surface course generally of major roads and motorways. In the past seen planings which have come from rotten highways they never seem to bed down. I wouldn't advise diesel putting diesel on them as it washes the bitumen of the stone.

As Jon says the idea of diesel is to make the bitumen tacky again then it will bind together.

There was a rule about using road planing near water ways because of run off. Don't know if it still applies. This last week I have been waiting for the environmental agency to get back to me. Good luck.

 

I think that ship has sailed here I have owned a few landrovers plenty of rainbows when they been through. I think it helps towards a self healing drive way :laugh1:
