I wouldn`t mind if the bars were 48" Steve but one of the 880`s has a 72" bar the other a 60". Thats a long way round even if you do like sharpening.:thumbdown:

Skip chain is the way to go on those super long bars, I run skip on my 42" bar on the 660, vast improvement in cutting, chip clearance and sharpening time.

The other thing I notice aswell is the 880 s width, dont know if any of you noticed it was abit more awkward as its wider aswell as obviously longer, I noticed it straight away when I first used one

My biggest beef with the 88's the lack of a manual oiler, particularly when running a six foot Cannon bar.

 

Makes me long for an old 084.
