You need one of these. 7.5 kilos of rescue Tom cat with a bad attitude towards small fluffy creatures. When we moved in to our house a couple of years ago, one of our new neighbours remarked that he had a mouse free shed after we moved in. :thumbup1:

We have got 2 rescue cats but they prefer to lay infront of the fire most of the time

I hate mice, they seems to be on a rampage in the sheds right now, chewing on anything foamy. Air filters on machines, ear defenders, spare pipe lagging, lost a whole box of unused mini roller sleeves! I've had success with traps in the past but don't seem interested at the minute. I will have to try one of those bucket traps.

Got two 4month old kittens, wee brother and a sister, hoping they will grow in to good mousers! Had to put an older cat down earlier this year, she wasn't much of a hunter though

Wow, 'punt them'? As in kick them? Were you one of those loner kids who'd pour salt on slugs and burn ants with a magnifying glass? I go hunting so I'm no stranger to killing animals, but it's done humanely. Any creature thats going to die deserves a bit of dignity.

I'm not against hunting at all but how can you call shooting something humane?

Chap on the allotments used to make a trap from a cooking oil drum, one of the 25 litre metal ones. He used to cut a X in the base and push the points in and when the rats got in they pushed the points aside but they got them in the face trying to get out. Next morning he used to pour petrol in and light it, none of that humane crap for him. We used to have a Fox Terrier who could kill anything with one snap, we called her crocodog she was red hot. She once caught a rabbit while she was on the flexy lead and I had not even seen it.
