People are busy, they have stressful lives and unfortunately you are just a guy getting in the way of that. A traffic cone or Arco Hazard tape is not a law, you may think climbing a tree and dangling in a harness is cooler than Tom Cruises Ice Box on his fighter jet but unfortunately you may just another thing to annoy some people on a daily basis trying to get through their day and on with their lives.

That person in the car moving the cone could be visiting a dying relative, have a child in hospital, maybe just lost a loved 1 or late for a job interview that could make the difference of their kids eating that night.

Be tolerant, be nice, be a part of their day and they might start a thread on their favourite forum titled. Saint, A nice person I met Today!, A kind person, A cool guy up a tree helped me!

Ranting on a forum solves nothing, it adds to the negativity that seems to fuel a lot of people's lives.

If you have to wait a few minutes to get a car moved, so what.

Look at what you are trying to achieve, a Forestery operation on a busy street, to have the expectation that everything is going to run smooth is unrealistic.

Yes some people rant, call you names and act badly towards a lot of people but then there are the good folk, the kids waving and pointing thinking you look cool, the woman nudging each other as they walk past, people thanking you for cutting back the tree as it stopped them getting wet or their car covered in stuff, cups of tea and biscuits from thankful people!

Oh then there's the view from the top, looking down on the world going by, enjoying your health and feeling good you are part of a team, doing a skilled job and generally living life.

I'll have what he's having! Prozac?

An alternative view point and a good one. How often have we past miles of road works and cones only to find no work going on. People are probably sick of the over top h&s nanny state. Unfortunately what they don't realise is sealing off a drop zone is absolutely essential. On a building site a brick might fall in the next month. In a drop zone a chop will land every few seconds. Eventually you will have to erect 6 ft heras fence just for a few hours work.

Thats one point of view and refreshing to hear, but you've missed the point completely, its not about being pleasant and being nice too people(i would hope we are already)its about people putting thyre own safety at risk by blatantly disregarding a dangerous area.

The fact that an entire area is coned off with warning signs put up and all safety measures put in place people are still willing to put THERE lives at risk to shave a few seconds of theyre travelling time.

But i guess you thinks its ok for people to put themselves at risk as long as i look cool up a tree while drinking tea and munching biscuits eh

Oh and my tolerence died yesterday when i was verbally abused for doing my job.

walking around a public park I happened on a taped off area were some bushes were being pruned tidied up by the parks team..

Must of bin workin at least ten to fifteen feet from the public footpath that had bin closed off..

Now I didn't know whether the tape to cordon off the area was for the public's benefit or for those doin the job.

IE, the fear of a moronic worker injuring a passer by...

Maybe thats the problem, sometimes it might look to others that the morons are inside the taped off area?..
