Dmax issues where do I stand?

I'm not sure, only that he had diesel in the oil. I know that he had it serviced and not by an approved dealer and the problem started then.

Worked on 2 Dmax that had been serviced by a Indy garage , they both ran like a bag of bolts , engines were rough under load and down on power , i replaced the fuel filters (which were black) and changed the oil to Shell R6 LM , night and day after , I think that there is a huge lack of understanding as to how important that the correct engine oil is used in DPF engines . Isuzu only recommend fuel filter change if the light is displayed on the dash ! no thanks .

Using an Indy for service should not cause this problem and as long as they are vat registered and use genuine parts they should not be able to duck the warranty claim. I spoke to John hunt in hampshire who are also a serious player in John Deere tractors and know there stuff when it comes to engines. The impression I got is they have cracked the problem which tends to only occur when game keepers and the like idle round fields all day. They pointed out with my towing habits I was highly unlikely to suffer a problem. Having driven the vehicle I decided it definately was not for me even though it's rated to tow 3500 kg. it may be worth talking to the dealer in chilbolton.

Removal is the best solution, the problem is the ECU has the be changed to block the DPF.

If you ever have an issue with the car and it goes back to VW or they service it they reset the ECU for updates etc.

Easy enough if you live 5 mins from the person that mapped it. However

some cars wont even drive with factory settings once its done.

I looked at having mine done (one guy is getting a comfortable 220bhp out of a 2.0 twin turbo). For me the issues outweighed benefits. Also, I'm pretty sure you would lose the warranty if they found out.

Once the car is out of warranty it will be a brilliant idea.

Hi mate my brother on his VW T6 HAD DPF taken and maped out that was over 200hp so this 220hp is it VW PICK UP YOUR ON ABOUT thanks Jon

The DPF is removed and bypassed. I dont think its an option on such a new vehicle but if it was a few years down the road I would tear it off and fit the gizmo.

I took the guts out of my DPF and just refitted the body of it . At the same time I blanked off the EGR valve . Returns slightly more MPG if you drive gently but also spins up faster if you tred on the loud pedal . No problem with MOT either . It has passed 2 like this . It is an 05 Navara though . Not got the sensors I would think .

[Have you spoken direct to International Motors? When we had a fuel in oil problem a few years ago on our Trooper, via ITOC (Isuzu Trooper Owns Clb) forum we got a number and spoke to customer service. Although the vehicle was up to date on the recalls, IM arranged for it to have the injectors replaced again as some of the earlier replacements were faulty too. We still have that vehicle.

Whilst the problem may not be the same, IM are still responsible and in our case the dealer wasn't too proactive in helping. Things only changed when IM told the dealer to fix it.

You shouldn't have to put up with that on a year old vehicle - and look at they way they are being advertised as a 'macho' do all truck. Get on their case.

I don't think dpfs came in until 2010 some not til 2012. You probably have a cat but the dmax I think has a cat and a dpf.
