How to move a broke down tracked chipper?

I know with excavators you remove the track motors and then drag them tracks then free wheel along as nothing to stop them turning

 

That sounds like it would work, sure if it ever did go bang i would find a way to shift it. Wouldnt want to damage it even further by doing something daft.

Mac, Jason and I once moved a six ton tracked mulcher to a position where it could be restarted with a 5hp Honda petrol with a pump mounted on it. I used the same thing to move a SafeTrak off site and onto a lorry with the same after the owner had screwed his engine.
