nice to see the council do something productive with their time. "nanny Britain" at its finest.

I don't think its an unreasonable letter at all. Its about time something was done about this, theres been numerous threads about us needing some common ground on this already.

some common ground maybe but if your not allowed to talk volume or weight what solution do you have to market bags,

We stock 0.25, 0.73, 1.0 & 2.0 bulk bags and what they are saying is we will have to refer to them all as just a bulk bag and your not allowed to say what it's capacity is or what it might weigh who will buy like that I certainly wouldn't can just see the conversation on the phone.

How much is in a bag? "not allowed to tell you"

Well what does it weigh? " not allowed to tell you that either"

I have emailed them back asking for clarification on what exactly a load is, will wait and see if I get a reply.

I don't think it says you cant talk weight or volume, only that if you advertise a specified quantity it has to be accurate and done on a "pucca" device.

All they are saying is if you say it weighs "X" it has to weigh that much (as a minimum)

I've seen the numerous threads as well discussing the best way to advertise logs. However, you can't sell by weight as wet logs are heavier than dry and you can't sell by volume as logs "settle" if you give the bag a shake.

As a log consumer I'm happy buying logs by the "dumpy bag". It's a volume that I can picture in my mind's eye.

I'm really not convinced that it's worth the council spending a great deal of time on an issue like this... if people don't think goods are worth the money they shouldn't go back...

You'll have to call them small, medium, large and XL.

Volume approximately equal to 0.25 M3 etc.

Describe your product as, Bulk Bag of ?, aprox weight X aprox Volume Y..
