how to be safer at work in trees

Oh an by the way-how many of you lot, slash-cut the log so it goes in the feed rollers easier? IE not cross-cut square but cut at an angle to lead it into the rollers.

Haha....and then watch as the numpty groundy puts it in with the end of the point uppermost and gets whacked in the chin.....they get what they deserve sometimes.:biggrin:

Discussion and an open mind, so many people i've worked with are fixed in there ways and do things in a very basic and simple way, and there is nothing wrong with that.

 

My point is I often find we don't discuss jobs or how we are doing a task as a team enough, discussion can lead to new ideas better team work and safer work practices.

 

I'm guilty of it, i was working for another company and there was one fairly inexperienced groundy who is eager to learn on a small fell he was given to do much advice was given on how to do it properly/safely what to look for etc, he got it down well enough, but then the way he went about processing it was poor at best and dangerous at worst and no one said a thing, not even me.

How about no climbing only MEWPS or maybe fell them first then work on them on the ground ?

Or what about a chain mail suit ?

dont tackle anything your not ready for

hopefully you have a long time to get experience gradually:thumbup:

all you guys pricing, double your price and give the climbertime to do things safley

 

ohh and come to me for all your training hehehe

 

no but seriously rushing and not taking breaks because a job has been under priced have to rank high on the cause list
