Staying away money?

I worked away for a week this year for a company driving machines, there was no extra pay.

We got picked up from home and dropped back, put up in a very nice b n b, worked 12 hours, came back to a big dinner and pudding and a cuppa, then it was pretty much bedtime and repeat.

I never even considered staying away money, I've worked for myself for years so someone paying my board and food was great and there was plenty of hours to work.

All I did was spend £30 and filled a box full of food for through the day that lasted all week and I bought some sandwiches off the b n b lady for £2 for the Thursday , Friday .

Job done!

I'll work around East Anglia then get home to Mrs Egg's eggsellent home cooking if there ain't no extra pay in the job. Each to their own!

looks like i need to up my price a little then i usually work away for a fair days wage and if i can squeeze whatever it costs in campsite fees for the camper then im happy.

however i have three kids and a wife at home so working away is like a holiday for me :)

If it's just for evening meals, then £20 minimum, especially if having to eat out.

If it was everything, then even £50's being optimistic to find bed and food most of the time unless you're cooking it yourself.

Depends on how you look at it though too - some people work away reluctantly so need some sort of incentive, others want to be away so as long as they're no worse off then all good.

One week is a bit different to week in week out.

T the pop start as you mean to go on plenty of gangers willing to take the piss out of you and you can bet your bottom dollar there getting your lodging allowance.

If you take lads away you look aftr em simple

A mate of mine has got 7 blokes on full time, they lodge away most weeks, he pays for bed, breakfast and evening meal, he also gets the b&b owner to knock up sandwiches for lunch time. He buys the first two pints for the lads in the bar and pays the lads £50 extra a day. That's why he's got 7 good lads that go anywhere in the country and will pull their balls out, if needs be.
