You don't know what it has added to the value of her house/the enjoyment of her property/what price she puts on privacy etc. It's her money and I think good on her for spending it in any way she sees fit.

Don't get me wrong, I see your argument. But at the same time it doesn't seem right that someone spends the same amount of money that most people earn in a lifetime to buy a house to knock down.

If I had a million quid in the bank I could think of better things to do than knock a house down..... What would you do with a million? Maybe buy some ferraris and burn them?

She has more than a million and has earned every bit of it from something she's created. Along the way she's also generated wealth/wages/opportunities for numerous other people.

Truly a tremendous success story and as a real bonus she's not scared to challenge the SNP, on the downside she's a labour supporter/donator!

Well personally I believe the workers in that bucket lift should be using Easy-Lift Harnesses as well. With regards to the owner of the property buying up other property with their own money and doing with it what she wants to, I say good for her. The owner as proved to be accomplished Entrepreneur and Capitalist. I can't think of one socialist that can claim any economic success at all.

Yeah, she wrote those books while on benefits. She then collects massive royalties for film rights etc.

How can she "earn every bit of it" when she is now only effectively going to her bank every month with a royalty cheque for a couple of million? Is that hard work demanding millions?

I suspect she hedges her bets and donates to a wide variety of charities and political parties, publicly and privately After all she has a lot of fans to keep happy.

Nobody earned it for her. I don't really like jealousy - people are better of focusing on their own lives rather than sniping at those who have done well IMO. Aim high, don't wish others' success away.

If it is that easy then you can do it as well Matelot, can't be that hard to write a brilliant book. Just need a bit of paper and a pen.....

She "earned" it because we live in a society that has a rule of law and respects copyright laws. IMO someone that becomes a billionaire for writing some books is getting too much money.. Should she not be paying a bit more tax so she doesn't have so much money to fritter away? Perhaps give a bit more back to the society that made her so rich?

We can all go out and get a few quid, just like you and I do. The thing is we (IMO) need to look out for those who can't. horses for courses and all that!
