Was about 600 I seem to remember for motor, pipes, mounting plate and adaptor so it just slides onto splines where shaft would normally go, takes less than 5 min to remove and change back to a pto shaft.

Sourced it from Kilworth tractors who were very helpful indeed.

You could probably get away with a smaller motor as your winch won't take as much driving and you probably have a bit less oil flow.

The valtra is 196bar and 73ltr min flow but not sure what rpm it gives that at.

I'm no hydraulic expert really but this works well for us, we lost a little bit of pull and speed but more than makes up for it with the convenience of not having to swap between implements if we are mostly using the trailer or chipper on back. If we are doing a lot of heavy winching or skidding with it I swap back to shaft as it's faster and will give slightly more pull.

Matching the motors capacity to the tractors available power and the winches requirements is really key which is why I'd recommend speaking to killworth as the lad there seems to really understand this lot.

Also bare in mind the old analogy 'buy cheap buy twice' is very true with this stuff!

Kilworth are excellent it has to be said. Now I've got my mulcher fitted OK without any mods, I'm going to get some plates welded to the winch, job done. Now for fitting some under body protection, the mulcher doesn't half chuck stuff about!

Make yourself a decent chain skirt to hang between the mulcher and tractor which should slow stuff down before it hits anything hard.

Already got a chain skirt, it's the stumps and rocks etc. Not a great deal of ground clearance, but a great deal of delicate stuff to smash. And I know myself- I could break a ball bearing!

Pieces of conveyor belt type material works well stopping stuff. I've got a really thick piece in front of the oil sump on the mowers to stop stones punching a hole in it!

I have recently bought a pasquali eos 50hp alpine and it is the mutts nuts. Reversible drive is brilliant for flailing. It is powerful enough for everything I need it for and still transportable with flail and loader attached. I had a Goldoni Quad 20 before which was a great little tractor I just needed more power!
