Makes you wonder how many fall for these scams???

I like to think most people would be suspicious of such dodgy payment demands but unfortunately I know a couple of lads who are just decent genuine people who have been too trusting and paid the price.

The last one transferred 2.5 K to a bloke from Scotland for a grinder he never got to see.

Be suspicous of everything, never give money before you have got the item, don't feel afraid to ask awkward questions, any doubts give it a miss.

Money is too hard earned to lose to these scum.

Youre right there Matmoss. I find the genuine sellers are only too happy to field awkward questions - they have nothing to hide.

As soon as someone starts getting vague or stroppy it usually means 'Avoid'!

greenmech chipper on now

2008 Greenmech 19-28 woodchipper shredder tree surgeon chipper | eBay

photo from a listing that supposedly sold 1 mar for 8k

2008 Greenmech 19-28 woodchipper shredder tree surgeon chipper not timberwolf | eBay

bit of a minefield

Always worth looking at the feedback, the seller of this chipper has 9 feedbacks, none as a seller, 9 as buyer from a suplier that sells lightbulbs, fancy goods and cleaning products. It would be so easy to set up a supposedly reasonable looking ebay account by buying cheap stuff for a while at £1 a go to get a great feedback score.

Simply don't part with any hard earned until the goods are in your procession.

I would never dismiss a listing of something I wanted because it seemed dodgy, could just be an inept or inexperienced ebayer.

It's no better here in Frenchy-Ville-en Merde.

There is a very popular site called Le Bon Coin (The good place)

Site de petites annonces gratuites d'occasion - leboncoin.fr

Like a Gumtree except the Brits call is Le Bon 'Con' as in ripoff.

I advertise my wood chips on it and even these attract the odd scammer!

Usually though it's an email sent by a foreign Johnny, one of our African cousins judging by the quaint way the French is written.

A colleague almost lost the funds to a caravan he wish to buy and my associate too when we were looking for a truck a few years ago.

Surprising the number of people who get sucked into these scams.

If it is too good to be true then it probably is...

Ty
