deadwooding

Just after some advice on how you guys would price to deadwood 5very mature oaks.

They all had wide crowns roughly 45-60 ft, dropzones were all easy, some had more deadwood than others, from looking from ground no more than 10-15 in each tree, I reckon it would take 2 fairly decent climbers a full day to complete, sorry no pictures, would you price it as per tree or just a dayrate, un sure whats the best. And everything that is cut off is staying on site for the customer. Cheers guys

Price as a job, not a day rate or per tree. 2 climbers for the day, if they are going to come down and clear up within the working day then no need for a groundie which would add to the cost as long as the area can be taped off and don't risk any members of the public walking under the tree

IME deadwooding is one of the most under priced jobs we do, depending on the spec it often takes a lot of time to cover the whole tree and do a good job especially on large mature oaks

I hate deadwooding, not enough.........destruction.

Two climbers wages + running costs, insurance vans etc + your profit.

You should really be able to figure out costing a days work though.

Also hate it because you end up slogging your arse round the tree for hrs and the client comes out and looks at how much you have cut out and normally says "is that all you've cut" or something similar, they seem to feel cheated that you haven't produced a full vanload for there money.
