Haha, I had one of them! But badged as a Seat, was ace on fuel (1.9 non turbo diesel) and bombproof.

Sometimes had a problem with starting which was the starter relay (in the fusebox) used to eat 1 of them every 2-3 months. But at a tenner each i didn't bother finding out why it ate them.

Fingers crossed for this one then!

If it was me, with the few quid saved on the purchase I would get the back ply-lined.

I think I will do that eggs, my plan is to add a few storage compartments also, I'll probably put a few pics up. I think the ply kits are around £150 all pre cut and all fitting kit supplied :)

Thanks for all the comments and advice guys, I've been to look at several vans over this week, some very nice and very spacious, some heaps of crap and some nasty feed back from DVLA vehicle checks on one of them.

But I did find a little gem and I pick it up sometime next week. It's a 51 plate VW Caddy van (not pick up) with 82,600 miles on the clock and a full VW service and 11 months MOT, very clean and tidy van, and most of all I got it way below my budget so saved some money also :)

Crank pulley is a weak spot on the Hdi Partners and Berlingos .

Having said that my good lady has had her Partner Quicksilver for 5 Yrs . Crank pulley had to be changed and it is apparently a common problem with the hdi engine .

Mine went too, don't think the bill was too bad.

We got the Connect, Partner and a kangoo. I reckon top prize goes to the Partner, they are all good on fuel with probably the Kangoo as the winner on that but the Partners are so much quieter and smoother, also have the biggest load space.
