Hi had a ford connect van was supper reliable & not bad on the fuel. The big problem was that the seat gave me a real bad back I think this was due to having a bulk head & could not move the seat much. I've got a vw caddy it's been ok on reliability drinks fuel but is quick.

I would recommend you get a van with the side door as it makes it easier to load/unload

Hey guys and gals,

Has anyone had any experience with any of these vans or similar, reliability, space, comfort, what to look out for when buy basically all pros and cons.

Thanks in advance

Adam

Adam, we had a berlingo to get kit and climbers to and from jobs which really speeds up transitioning through the jobs. We then got a fiat cargo with sliding doors on either side, a far superior vehicle. We also run a tranny and a mog. This set up makes for a really versatile outfit.

Some connects came with factory option of safe under passenger seat, nice option if you get it or you can buy the safes off eBay etc. Nice for phones wallets cash from the jobs etc. Completely out if sight and safe.

Had several connects and combos over the last 10 years. Side loading door damn handy wouldn't be without one if was buying another. Also can be nice if it has rear seats that fold away completely. Always handy for that 3rd person.

Lad that does a bit of work for me has bought a connect 6 weeks ago he loves it farther in laws got a caddy there quick but if you got a bit of weight on there a bit light on the steering. He has been a fireman all his life so use to driving things a little quicker than normal you never quite know where your going to end up when you come out of a bend.

Berlingo Multispace 2.0 HDi Desire here, best of both, 4 doors and tailgate, van for work and car at weekends, carries a lot, has air con, 5 sunroofs, extra storage everywhere, rear tables, map lights, rear fan with ventilation, overhead lockers, shopping trolly! . Cheap on Road Tax £165 and 45mpg when loaded down sometimes better. 2.0 is the one to get not the 1.9 plenty of acceleration up hills.

You could also look at the disabled versions with ramp for mower, stump grinder, I even thought about that.
