Absolutely. The copper should have spoken with the parent though, not frightened the child. My Dad never let us ride on the pavement; he would not tolerate that kind of stuff. Hard maybe, but I respected him for upholding what he knew to be the law; likewise the Policeman in this case. Personally I do think children under 12 should be allowed to ride on the pavement but the bikes would have to be speed limited; whole other realm that one. My opinion is not above the law though.

Do you drive to the nearest police station and hand yourself in when you realise you're doing 32 in a 30mph limit?

Just wondering....

I did a 15 mile ride along Bournmouth sea front on cycle paths which are shared with pedestrians. Normally walking 6 abreast if you give them a ping with the bell they get abusive so it's easier to just leave a tyre mark up their back.

There is a big pushin this country to get people out of cars and on to bikes but it's difficult if people can't share there is a reason the pavements have been widened and it's not just because the population has got fatter. It would not surprise me if the little girl was on a cycle path.

I notice my neighbours are braver In in there xc90's when I am cycling than they are when I drive the battered 15 year old landcrusiers at them.

And there lies the problem- a track shared with pedestrians isnt a cycle path.

What does this mean . (spare the masses of asses here).

(Laws with regard to riding a bicycle with a helmet.)

It's nothing to do with helmets.

Translation, there are many more anal folks out on the loose round these parts than your neck of the woods. Masses of asses:thumbdown:
