Trailer Brakes while parked backwards down hill

Just out of interest how many of you have serviced or even looked inside your chipper or trailer brake drums in the last 12 months or even ever adjusted them and i bet it isn't many. For these systems to work they need regular servicing which includes copper slipping r greasing the cam or slides on the auto reverse

 

the moral of it is dean ,aways carry spare bricks. :biggrin:

Mine are adjusted and bearing play checked every 3 months along with other checks on them, stripped rarely with no set pattern or when there is a problem, which I admit is not great.

This is why everyone needs to take a trailer test, not knowing this sort of question kills :001_smile:

 

Speaking as someone who has taken 2 :blushing: trailer tests I would say that this sort of information would be far too practical for a modern., Eco friendly driving test!

This thread goes to show that I am right not trusting handbrakes, I alwAys leave vehicles in gear and chock the trailers.
