I was trying to ascertain what the other 2 guys would be doing? If they are there to control traffic then it would be a more sensible idea to get some TM on the job. Just humble opinion and I apologize for offering it!

Mo need to apologise for offering your opinion. I was nearly pointing out how that bit came across in your post.:)

Can't make out the power cable in the picture, but will you need the relevant authorisation to be working near it?

Thick black line in the right stem crown, looks insulated but as wood wizard States you would still need permission to work on the tree I would think.

How are you going to control traffic?

This is the point I was trying to make. I think you would be better off having a climber and groundie and contract the traffic management out to the experts, less risk etc. I would charge £350 to cover the actual work and put the cost of the TM on top. Hence my comment that a climber and groundie should be able to complete the job in a day if TM is contracted out.

Personally I'd have 3 lads on the job, and traffic management for half a day to a day. You can make out to phone line to the left too, which complicates things. Two groundies would be best. One on the rigging and the other keeping the road clear/feeding the chipper.

£600 for a 3 man day plus TM.

This would be my choice.

You don't need permission to work by the power cable, but the area network operator would prefer you to contact them first, as you are working in close proximity to there overhead cable. They can assist you depending on the area your in. Takes time though but its worth making the call.

With the TM, think now you have to put the correct highways notice in, so might be easier to pay a TM company to do that all for you
