You could make something similar or look at truncator.

 

Hey thanks for the mention! I saw the Log Croc in Ireland at the ploughing championships. I like the way the teeth are all independent. There were a lot of people looking at it.

 

Depends what you're cutting to and how fast you want it cut.

Made one of these croc type things years ago. Had just bought a welder and was knocking u metal projects left right and centre. I soon got tired of picking up logs off of the floor. For the diy/home logger, I don't think you can beat those portec type logging benches that you clamp a chainsaw to. Bought one 15 years ago and it still lives. I extended the legs on it so the logs drop straight into a wheel barrow and then wheeled straight to the splitter.
