Chipper upgrade...

Hi all,

I recently put together yet another quote for the felling of a great many Lawsons.

This evening, the quote has been accepted, a cool 35'000euros.

The quote is in 3 'tranches' (from the Norman French = parts)

First part accepted, 9980euros including stumps.

Start date is late March 2015.

Now our Quadchip is an excellent machine, very productive but we are itching to upgrade to a larger capacity machine, 9" perhaps, turntable and as light as possible.

A machine with enough convenience for smaller domestic work yet able to take on larger conifer removals of which we win many jobs.

A winch fitted is invaluable for this.

What machines do the venerable members of this parish recommend?

My ideal would be a Quadship 190 but I have been also skimming the Bandit offerings. A Timberwolf would also be of interest once they have brought out a newer version of their 8" machine.

Regards

Ty

think Id go down the bandit route personally - just the weight v towing vehicle issue to think of (and for some - perhaps drivers licence restrictions). for example our cabstar is light on the back end when empty so while it can tow 3.5 t not sure I would without a load in the back of the van too..

what are the dealership/distribution networks biased towards locally?
