I always hate hearing 'What's the least you'll take for it?'. I just ask them 'What's the most you'll pay?'. Funny how many people aren't prepared to be put in the position that they wanted me in. After all, I've already put what I want for it. It's up to them if they want to haggle but don't expect me to make it easy. :001_rolleyes::001_smile:

Sold one recently. It's the people who do my head in. I always ask a fair price and make all my descriptions honest. but people still want to haggle. One guy came offered £2k less than the asking price and wouldn't budge. I told him I was sorry he'd had a wasted journey, but that I thought it was probably time he left as I wasn't going to sell it to him for that money.

He asked me for the money to cover his fuel costs!

Just shut the door in his face.

I think he should have asked if you were willing to come down on the price before travelling to yours - the world is full of chancers and nob ends. I will always haggle but am fair so if it is something that is obviously worth the money - why push too hard, everyone has to make a living.

My ethic is that both parties should come away thinking a reasonable deal has been done and not one party is shagged to the limit of their life and the other has stolen the item. That is just bad business!

Welcome to the world of sales....

We are all sales people at heart, whether it is selling yourself to an employer, or selling your services to a contract or individual job, or selling for a living like me. Some you will win and some you walk away from feeling frustrated and poorer for the experience. The trick is the middle ground and be honest in all you do.

I recently had to sell a "project" Metro on FleaBay - the first buyer couldn't even make contact which, to me, is the height of bad form. If you bid, you are entering into a contract, if you win then it is yours! By bidding you showed your intent. If you don't want it or the price isn't right, then walk away - applies if you are a buyer or seller.

Hope the L200 does well for you....
