Yeah, you need to break the breeding cycle. Once you`ve got the dog clean, I`ve used flee powder for that with success, Bob Martin I think, you need to treat your house with a spray, carpets, soft furnishings, dogs bed, etc with a rigorous regime over a few weeks to get all the eggs as they hatch, fleas like it when the heating goes on !! good luck

We had to switch to Advocate as apparently fleas are becoming immune to frontline.

The problem with 'pour-ons' is that they wash off. And for many reasons, they're not as effective as they used to be either.

My dog is now on bravecto - one pill every 3 months. You get it from the vet. And clean your house - hoover everything, everyday because you have to break the cycle. If you treat the dog then the theory is that the fleas hatch out, bite the dog and die. But they'll be biting you as well so clean up.

You can use boric acid (it's a powder) which is also known as 'borax', but keep it away from your pets. You brush it into the rugs, between the floor boards and stuff, keep the dog out for a day and then hoover it all up.

Loads of stuff on google about this kind of stuff.

Mrs eggs: we use stronghold, only on prescription and not needed every month, does fleas and all worms but tape worm, milbemax for that.

One of eggs mates give his terriers garlic oil capsules in food, it deters fleas but I can only dread to think of the dogs breath.....

Good luck.

Stronghold worked for my lab. Also superb for sarcoptic mange.

There's the odd run of barbed wire in our woods, just the right height to not only rub on a foxes back, but also a working Labrador !!!

Also treats a few other parasites with one 3 pack dose.

The vet I go to always promise to price match an online quote too, around £18 i think for 3 month dosage, defo recommend it. Good luck.:thumbup1:
