Hi there i have a stratford eco 9he woodburner and burn 99% softwood as its free cut from the timber too twisted to be any use in the mill but can only get 8 hour max when shut down over night and was wondering if hardwood would last longer?

Oak or Holly we had some holly left in big chunks for two years amazing stuff when dry just takes a decade to dry.

 

Or go to bed later and get up earlier :lol:

I find that if I have been burning any kind of hard wood there are always embers under the ash in the morning . Chuck on some smaller bits open the door a crack and the air slide and away you go . Also some good charcoal if I have been burning eucalyptus .
