Oh no, not an oil thread. Don't do it boys it will all end in tears. Take a look at some of the bike forums the posts run into the hundreds and its all "oh yes you can, oh no you can't" "I've forgotten more about oil..."

It was described as "white mans ju-ju" on one forum which I think sums it up quite well - go with spec and move on. But that just my opinion:laugh1:

15,000 hours without a spanner on the engine says it is :) And thats mulching hours,

And I bet it's blacker than the ace of spades, apart from the silver shimmer of disintegrated engine.

You are aware that it's recommended you change the oil every 100-500 hours? You should have at least changed it about 30 times.

At risk of opening a can of worms, whats peoples thoughts on this super long life fully synthetic engine oil. I have formed a very solid opinion of it, but seeing what others think.

Polite suggestions appreciated

Having recently seen how the actual specifics of oil quality vary and are really not they well policed/enforced within the lubricants industry I would be very very wary , I recently had my motor factors drop of some ford spec transmission oil to replace what I had drained from the gearbox of my ranger , within two hours I was contacted by the motor factors telling me not to use the oil as the oil was not suitable even though it was ford spec oil .

Personally if your carrying out your own lube services then I would be inclined to steer well clear of extended life oil . Regular servicing wins every time
