Should be the bloody same here  - sick of looking at heavy handed butchery in SE. Die back ??? Ohhh yea !! More work fr coming years.  Don't ask me what I'd do with that sort.... but it does involve a blunt silky  ?  K

@Alex O yes, if it ends up as the wrong tree for its place  ( which can happen for a number of reasons ) Fell it ?  cos repeated 'reduction' is an invitation to decay / branch failure.  Formative pruning ( enhancing 'natural ' form )  or clearance pruning  ( lamp column )  and safety pruning over high target areas is OK.   No need to trash a perfectly good crown all over , cos boss says so.  K
