My thoughts exactly.

 

Had a roaring fire going of softwood offcuts, goat willow and pine. Stuck a large bit of ash on there and now its just smouldering!

 

We should all be burning soft wood with our hardwoods its had such a bad repratation for being a poor quality firewood . some softwoods are harder than hardwoods. Use them together and your quids in:thumbup:

It tickles me that all you firewood guys burn rubbish!

 

The reaction to that depends on who's considering the wood rubbish. I don't burn rubbish (99% conifer on page 1): it's the others!
