Can anyone recommend any chainsaw rated, or better still, chipper rated, ear plugs?

 

In this weather is nice working with a hood up, but the muffs on my helmet won't fit inside the hood of one of my waterproof jackets.

Get yourself the army waterproofs. the hood is designed to fit over the soldiers helmet... ooh sailor!!!

 

The chap at apf and arbshow; bournemouth military, does full set, trousers and jacket £50 all in. Very good, and the hood allows some movement whilst working. Trousers are broad at the bottom too so they fit easier over chainsaw boots than most, resulting in you not having to take boots off to get them on.

Had a look for earplugs before, they do sample packs from the suppliers which could be a good idea if you think you have a 'narrow ear' or might be bothered by the comfort/shape or find they don't work as well as you want.

 

I also use the Moldex ones which go up to 35DB and they're brilliant, though not re-useable.

 

Whichever ones you go for, Amazon seems to have very cheap suppliers for most brands/types!

I use these too. I always have some with me and they came in very handy at the APF campsite!

 

I also use the howard laser lites but I use the corded ones so when I take them out I don't have to get them covered in crap in my pockets I can just leave them hanging round my neck
