    And I think the rope access route is probably not really what u want to be doing for tree work. Think u want to be getting c.s. whatever. I'm sure some one else on here could explain better. Talk to your gaffer tho and let him know you want to climb!!!

    I think you should spend a year or two on the deck personally because there is a lot to learn. But at the same time if your keen then a good company should let u have a bash at dead wooding or thinning with another climber if there's time. Thats how I started 😝

    After nearly 10 years of working for some one I have gone self employed ( but still 3 days a week for my old boss). I thought it was time to give contract climbing a go. Saved up my penny's and purchased a old partner van thinking it would be more practical. On the way home started getting very hot!!! Got home and the water tank thing was full of oil. That place is getting a call 1st thing tomorrow. Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh all i wana do is work, not mess about FFS. Maybe i will save up more and get sum thing newer. So frustrated
