FWIW the cut and climb is ace, and I find hoods cumbersome so I don't mind not having one.

 

They are Joe, but when it's really hosing it down it will eventually get down your neck and soak your One Direction tshirt.

Mind, I'm told you wear a Stetson at work, so you'll probably be ok.

I'm having a go at a navey gore tex jacket surplus army coats brand new found it on eBay think it was only £35 they are fairly long so won't be that good for climbing but a brilliant groundsman coat worth a look

No offence but if you buy cheap you buy twice in my opinion. the cut and climb jacket if very, very hard wearing and waterproof, does not need re proofing and is machine washable.

I use a Regatta jacket of some sort. Served me well over past couple of years, still waterproof and a lot cheaper than other makes

Had my eye on this one for a while - waterproof, windproof, breathable and light weight for £75, not sure how hard wearing it would be though.
