I'm looking to get a waterproof jacket now the weather is going down Hill and wandered what you guys recommend?

I know a lot of you rate the cut and climb but does it come with a hood as well?

Cut and climb is a very good Jacket. It does not have a hood. It is the best waterproof jacket out there in my opinion.

Yeah I know its got good reviews so that was my first option. Do you know of any jackets with a hood?

It doesn't unfortunately.

There are loads of threads on this, but with new stuff coming out all the time it's always relevant.

I like the look of the Ridgeline Pintail smock, but haven't heard any feedback from arbs who've tried one.

I bought a Sealflex farmers type jacket last winter, which is fully waterproof but pretty sweaty when you get going.

Some prick will be along in a minute saying that skin is waterproof, which is great when you're climbing in sleet all day.

Are you made of sugar sweetheart? You're not gonna dissolve!

Always happy to prove you right Bolam.

FWIW the cut and climb is ace, and I find hoods cumbersome so I don't mind not having one.

I've got a Tribord one from decathlon sailing range which has a hood. Was digging footings all day in the rain a few weeks ago and it didn't let a drop in. It was quite a warm day but as it's breathable it wasn't too sweaty. Only £15, bargain!

If you meant the Tribord one Matt then I got the small which fitted me perfectly, and my nicknames never been Lanky!
