I heard some of the tributes to him today on radio 4, I had a pretty low opinion of him, but by all accounts he was a man of real conviction who although he hated Catholicism, did not hate Catholics and even help many of them.

 

He swallowed his pride and worked with his enemies for the greater good of all.

 

RIP Ian.

I listened to him eff and blind at Pope when Pope visited Edinburgh.

 

Shocking at the time. Still shocking now.

Big Ian was never shy when talking about his beliefs , he will be sadly missed by many .
