making straw bale castles in the fields, world about us and Jacque Cousteau on a sunday night on telly (in black and white) whizzer and chips comic and one called pippin. catching a baby mouse putting it in a bottle and wondering how it escaped (mother must have let it go but too naive to realise) - glad I had some early years in the country its helped in making me what I am today

1000's of huge rats coming out at night near the maggot farm - and what a smell

Working coal barges on the canal

Poaching ( nothing much ) with retired collier / prize fighter ( 75 bare knuckle rounds in 1930's) and watching him die with silicosis in 1970's

I remember falling off the bail skid that got dragged behind the bailer, I was always the smallest!

I remember climbing with Midland Tree Surgeons in the early 90's using a Stihl 009 with a 12" bar - great top/rear handled combo...
