This wee fella had been living down at the stream at the bottom of our garden all summer. Don't want to come over all soft but really enjoyed seeing watching him from the kitchen window. Found him today, 95% sure it was the neighbour's cat due to his condition and where I found him. Neighbours have 2 cats and say between them they bring back a small animal most nights

No time for cats. When I was about 13 I remember our cat bringing a kingfisher. Caught it in the stream in the garden. Luckily it was still alive and hopefully survived.

domestic and feral cats are the biggest killer of song birds in the uk, this is why numbers are rapidly decreasing........detest the animals

What a beautiful bird. Shame. If my dog went walking itself about killing things id be in the s*** and it would have to be chained up and muzzled at all times. Its about time cat owners took responsibility for their animals.

That's really sad - next door have 5 cats; the only time the kids here see wild birds, they're laid out dead on the doorstep

Its about time cat owners took responsibility for their animals.

 

 

How might one do this? Keep it indoors 24/7? Put 'em down each time the catch something?

 

It's a shame but the cat is just doing what is natural to it.

It isn't natural for so many of us to have cats though is it.

When I do unnatural things such as fly in a plane I get taxed for the damage I am doing to the environment, maybe the same should apply to cat ownership.

Yes and take it out on a lead if you want it to go outside. We had to net everything in our garden to stop the bl**dy things using it as a toilet and I had to stop feeding the birds as the cats think I am just attracting them for their entertainment. Cats can exist indoors with a litter tray, friends of mine had a couple of very expensive ones and they never went outside.

A dog catching and killing a cat is only doing what is natural to it.
