Leyllandi fire wood

I have been asked a question and as I'm unsure on the answer would

Like to ask the question on here.

Is leyllandi any good as firewood. I would say prob no but thought I'd ask as I'm not 100% sure.

Burns hot & fairly fast, it's ok in a stove, on an open fire not so good.

 

Not a great commercial firewood, but it will keep you warm.

Once dry it is excellent fire wood, IME.

Yes it is once dry, a lot of people have hang ups about it, I burnt loads last year.

Thanks for the fast replies. How long to dry out. I'm the one who's got to cut it so if it's a waste of time then I won't bother with it. Doing as a favor

One of my mates takes all mine as he burns it in his stove. As long as you let it dry why not use it

i cut the large hedge back at the end of the garden and let it dry for 6-8 months and put it in the stove and was pleasantly surprised as to how hot it got. great stuff.

we are just about to start burning it this year as hardwood is getting very thin on the ground it splits excellent and is very easy to light as when splitting it sort of tears

Being picky now but it can be annoying when you're nice and clean in your living room and pick up a lump with a bubble of sap. This then gets on your hands and the missus reacts none to well as you put black marks on kit. As for your issues the web of your hand then gets stuck to your beer glass as you put it down to refill! But it does indeed burn hot and smells quite nice.

i use it on my woodburner great stuff burns veryhot & underrated as a firewood but i will burn it with the rest if its dry and made of wood i will burn it lol
