I got asked to tender for some tree maintenance work for the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary. Interested, I requested a meeting to discuss the requirements. Job was removal and trimming of veg obscuring Gatso Speed Cameras! Thanks but no thanks I said, end of story. What d'ya reckon eh?!

i have had this urge for years now to "total" a gatso, it's getting stronger and nearer to that day.

Gatso's may soon be replaced with a satellite system. There will be a tracker built into every car on manufacture which is to be monitered via satelite, it will track speed on any road and it will issue automatic penalties should any speed limit be broken, where ever you are, whether in the back of beyond or tescos carpark.

Never going to happen. The technology is here already, but to implement it would embarrass too many judges, MP's and off duty feds!

 

Nowt wrong with Gatso's near schools etc., but too many have blatantly been situated to generate revenue which is wrong IMO.
