If it's the real biggies you're thinking about, I thought about the very same thing a few years ago and decided the weight of the compressed chip etc would be too much; plus the time in between emptying could result in a serious 'block' of chip having been generated and almost impossible to get out again.

 

There are of course the smaller units that may work.

I've mention in another thread a while back. If local skip companies offered a suited service for tree work companies it would be mutually beneficial.

Gives them work and saves arb doing all the paper chase that comes with transport.

Your regular domestic waste collection truck would probably compact it too much to tip. I've seen these trucks trying to shake there contents. Not stable as the rear end has to go up increasing centre of gravity.

bin lorries i've seen have a headboard that pushes the contents out don't rely on gravity alone
