Whats a 6 x 6 inch chipper and kate moss got in common?

They were peaked in attractiveness last century and neither has ever been capable of eating much.

Oh dear timber, you should get out more and work on your punch lines;)

I have a 6x6, and a couple 6x12 chippers, all of similar power range

I find it a little depressing that ANY company in 2014 would still be selling 6x6 chippers for good money as they are less than half the chipper that a 6x12 is.

Whats worse is people are willing to pay good money for a machine thats going to cost more in cutting up, wages, sweat, run time and fuel.

It costs very little for them to make the bigger capacity chipper, they just have to get off their lazy and complacent asses and build the machine there clients need, not what they want to flick off.

It usually comes down to the age old weight debate, bigger opening usually demand more power = bigger engine = more weight & most manufacturers aim for the mass market. This is why all are the same design with the same engine.

As I have mentioned, I have 6 x 6 and 6 x 12 chippers with the same motors and weight. With petrol engines theres little difference between the 25 and 30hp kohler for weight or cost.

Is not a differcult thing to do engineering wise and requires little additional weight in metal. Other companies such as Hansa, Bandit, Salsco etc have been doing it for over 10 years.

I get where your coming from. But I think its pure "you can have it in any colour as long as its black" in this industry.

it just annoys me greatly to see sub standard, outdated gear being sold for top dollar.

If your building stuff like ours it makes no difference as we don't care about weight, only quality & a machine that does what it supposed to. Others may take the easy option?

What is fascinating is that 1663 members have viewed this post so far, This just gives you an idea of the level of interest in the new machine.

Ian , you want to know whats "Game Changing",as you say, come to the APF and find out... you already had a look at the new generation of machines at the AA show in the TW240 that you commented favourably on in a previous thread.

What would change the game in your opinion?

The TW150DHB is a SUB 750kg machine and to discuss other machines that don`t adhere to this spec on this thread is probably not the correct thread to respond to.

Isnt the TW240 a 6.5 x 9.5 opening? But with same engine ( or at least similar power) but has turntable and is sub 750kg?

Why make 2 sub 750kg models? Or is the 240 a lot more in price?

We are trading our old TW early next year and will be getting a brand new machine. The 150 has done us well but i wouldnt buy another one unless it's a least on par with the competition.

The new Timberwolfs are similar to the existing GreenMech range, namely, one turntable and one inline. Just like our Quadchip and Arborist 150, both of which changed the game having improved throughput and usability over other machines. While fitting into this sub 750kg market which exists in Europe....
