Those of you with steel sided chip box, quick question how thick is th esteel you used. I've been planning one in the last few days and was gonna use 1.2mm thent he guy who is helping me build it reckoned that was too thin. So just want to know what everyone else has used, i presume with a bit of an angle iron or box section frame behind it 1.2 should be fine but i'm open to ideas/experiences.

Thanks, Bill

I think mine could have been 1.2mm Billy, certainly no thicker. Remember galv tin is very heavy and even 2mm thick stuff will still dint if you throw a big log against it.

Line it with thin ply on the sides and thick ply where the chips hit... Did my in sheet ali and it's still got no dinks in it 6 months later!

im jealous. Ive bought a box off ebay for mine.

It was raining outside so i took a photo from my bedroom!

Ifor williams ally box, the guy didnt have the bolts to fix it so rachet straps were the order of the minute. i think its bent on the front right corner as it doesnt want to sit down properly, nothing a gentle tap with a mahoosive hammer wont fix!

oh, and it cost £9.99!
