Pedestrian stump grinders

Looking for a new stump grinder under 4K, think realistically I can only afford a 13hp one new, will these last the test of time? Im only grinding around 4 stumps each month at the moment but hiring each time is not suiting me anymore and I think if I had one I could push the stump grinding on a few more jobs as I only do it when requested at the moment. I've been using a Husqvarna SG 13 and a fair chunk of back muscle which is alright but was hoping other brands would be better, anyone any advice on other models or know any second hand bigger machines, although these will need to be pedestrian grinders also.

Thanks

the husqvarna sg13 is not massively differenet from any other 13 hp pedestrian stump grinder. if you want more than 13 hp then the choices get interesting. also try the large equipment section of the forum the topic has been discussed before so you can read up on lots of opnions too.

lastly there are a few dealers and sppliers of machinery on here a quick pm may get the ball rolling.

p.s. welcome to arbtalk:thumbup:

I purchased the Predator 360SW a few months back. 14hp Kohler engine so 1hp more than Rayco/Husq  Having the Multitip systems is awesome on it. Have done tiny-large stumps and 1 stump that was about 45" across and customer wanted it completely out due to having a driveway built. Munched through it no probs. Also is easy work with the turntable compared to moving the whole machine. And so far no problems with it.

the predator is a great little machine , I bought one to put up on the back of the van and still tow the chipper for smaller stumps and it works out great, its exactly the same machine as the laski . so its worth looking for a deal from both

I've been using an FSI ST20B today, awesome little grinder. 2 of us managed to lift it up steps to get to the stump, the turntable is great.
